Here's the first Rock von der Lahn compilation produced by the Marburg based prog outfit Anabis. The Anabis track isn't that interesting to my ears BUT we have a non LP track by the excellent group Noah (that some of you will know by now) - lovely voice and synthesizer over a drum machine. And there's this FUNKY JAM by the Owens Kiwi Band. Starting like a bluesy Krautrock tune, turning into discoish Synth-Funk. Unfortunately this seems to be their only song ever recorded. I'd give my left arm for an Owens Kiwi Band album ;)

Followers of the bin’s selling activity might have encountered me praising the man. On Peregrinations he’s staying in the deep like El Exigente, but adds the funkiness of El Chico. The unbeatable A side is actually one of my favourite sides of 70 Jazz-Funk out there. It starts with a bang (that lovely Luke Vibert found fitting for the intro of Plug’s Feelings) and then we’re off into a spiritual - sometimes psychedelic - trip through the funky jungles of Chico’s mind. Wether you want to make the dancers at your loft party shed tears of joy or enjoy this all killer album over headphones - home alone - you'll be having lots of fun as there's not a single dull moment on the album. El Chico brings his latin percussion set, deepness galore and some humour too. This is his masterpiece imho. Enjoy the ride!
